Our Response to WinWin
Title: Trust, Transparency and Humanity: Our Promise to Bereaved Families
Introduction: The recent broadcasts of the VRT program WinWin have cast the Belgian funeral sector in a difficult light. As funeral directors, we feel the impact of this reporting and understand that families’ trust may have been shaken. Yet we want to make it clear: not every entrepreneur operates according to the practices shown in the program.
What happened? In WinWin, distressing stories were shared about so‑called “whisper deals” between care institutions and funeral directors. Families were sometimes sidelined, deprived of free choice, and confronted with unclear prices and contradictory information. These practices are unacceptable and against the law.
Our vision: At Uitvaartzorg Cromboom, we believe that a funeral should be a moment of respect, peace, and connection. We work transparently, without hidden costs, and always in consultation with the family. Our mission is to support people in their grief, not to seek financial gain.
What do we do differently?
Free choice: You decide with whom you want to work. We fully respect that.
Clear communication: We explain everything, from costs to possibilities, without pressure.
Human approach: We are there for you, with empathy and care, at every step of the process.
A call for dialogue: We invite everyone to talk with us. Do you have questions, doubts, or concerns? Visit us, call us, or send an email. We are open to transparency and want to help rebuild a sector that deserves trust again.
Conclusion: The funeral sector needs honest entrepreneurs with their hearts in the right place. At Uitvaartzorg Cromboom, we dedicate ourselves every day to earning that trust. Not with words, but with actions.
